Dessert leftovers
I hope everybody is having a good holiday so far. Mine has been great. =)
Christmas Eve
My Aunt Anne is in town, staying with Grandma. My parents and I went over to visit them on Monday night.
I don't get to see Anne often—she lives in Connecticut—so it's always fun to visit. We had some cookies and other light desserts, and some wine.
I didn't get a picture of Grandma's cat: he ran and hid when we came in. ;-)
Christmas Dinner
My parents held Christmas at their house; everybody came in for lunch. Mom and dad, MeMa and PaPa, my brother and his girlfriend, two family friends and their son, and I all had lunch together.
Dinner was great. We had a ham, macaroni and cheese, broccoli casserole, mashed potatoes, carrots, corn, beans, bread, and a large variety of cookies, cakes, and other desserts (and probably some stuff I'm forgetting, too). ;-) It was all homemade and all very good.
We had a wine with dinner—a table red from Childress that MeMa and PaPa brought up at Thanksgiving—and coffee and tea afterwards. Everybody sat around and chatted for a while, and eventually headed home.
Gifts and Such
Because of my job situation I didn't buy many gifts this year, although I did get cards for everyone. I'd been told (repeatedly) that this would be a very low-key Christmas, but my family was very generous towards me.
I received a new teapot/teamaker (which will likely receive its own post later), a thick book on wine, clothes (including a light jacket—something I've been needing), and a lot of candy and food-ish items (including some dark chocolate and a bottle of very nice balsamic vinegar).
Post-Christmas
Today was a relatively quiet day. I did some reading, worked on the online game website (I'm halfway finished for the January 1 personal deadline), and ate leftovers. =)
Aune Anne came over tonight to say hi. She's an Assistant Dean, so she has a lot of fun stories and good advice. We all sat around and talked for an hour or two, and I started writing this shortly after she left. Now my cookies are gone and there's a cat purring in my lap. =P
How was your Christmas?

Christmas was great
Glad to hear you had a good Christmas. We had most of our family up for Christmas. It was relatively uneventful (nothing burned down or exploded). I got a game table for my game room and an Interlinear Bible to help me teach my Bible studies. [Now if we only had some bookshelves to put the books on.] We also got a stencil for the Clemson tiger paws...and there aren't any rules in our homeowner's association about school logos on driveways. Once everyone left we took an additional day to recover. We have enough leftovers to feed us for the rest of the year (which really isn't that long) and then some. All is back to (relative) normal now and I'm looking forward to next year.
